I honestly highly doubt this happened at all. I'm about 90% sure it was at most "held up mug and asked if could make me one". And the dude probably didn't give it a second thought, because he was asked to perform a task he was already going to be doing 90% of anyway. Most people don't mind doing minor stuff for coworkers, hence the reason most of those women probably offered in the first place. Women also generally care more about people, especially the presumably tech focused men since she said developer.

I worked with what i thought a a casually sexist boss. He would often make the women in the office get his mail , fetch his coffee , and do mundane work around the office. They complained they got paid less than the men , but we're clocked in the same time as the men. I asked why he treated them like this when I was in a medical setting? We all went to school and should be treated the same. He replied. Sir , youre a nurse, i hire women with GEDs and no degrees to do the things I need around the office. It just so happens more men applied for nursing jobs who were qualified than women did. I dont care much for what gender my nurses are, just that they do the job.

Note: it wasnt all men working as nurses, just the majority

Id have thrown it away and said oh I misunderstood what you wanted me to do with it.

"Id like a peppermint tea, please."

"Something wrong with your legs? You seem like a strong, independent woman that don't need no man to get her tea."

1
AnthonyWayne2025•

Or a load of special sauce in her tea.

17 coffee breaks a day. "Muh wage gap."

Lmao exactly, these people wouldn’t know hard work if it hit them in the face.

26
n0tr0llDTOM•

These mother fuckers need to drink more water, and work more

15
[deleted]•

Ok so basically the women made coffee for themselves almost every time and one time a woman asked if anyone else wanted a coffee, so one guy says yes thank you and she calls this casual sexism.

In my work place if you want something you get it yourself. And most of us are busy ACTUALLY DOING OUR JOBS, so we don’t really just go make coffee and tea all fucking day like a bunch of useless bloggers.

67
fdagasfd•

First article:

"Men in my workplace are sexist because they don't do weird random favors for me."

Second article:

"Why aren't men spending more time with women in the work place?"

20
[deleted]•

How about just get rid of the coffee and drink fucking water out of the cooler? 17 coffee breaks a day shows YOU ARE NOT WORKING.

10
TheImpossible1NO BRAKES•

Probably because "do you want a drink" could be misconstrued as something else by the grievance seekers.

42
[deleted]•

Yet if a guy offered a few times she would report him to HR as being “too friendly” and take it as him trying to hit on her. Guy would get written up and won’t ask women anymore. God these women are stupid!!!!

RolandDelacroixMAGA•

Unless he hits the 6-6-6 rule.

7
AllTrumpDoesIsWinMA•

Men don’t let other men make their covfefe because that’s how you end up eating a ballhair.

By extension, we’re more comfortable if everyone would just make their own. It’s for quality-assurance purposes.

This is a beautiful example of having zero problems in your life so you have to go find something because you MUST be a victim somehow.

31
[deleted]•

Even if women are disproportionately helpful/supportive- why is that a problem?

Is she just noticing females and males have difference tendencies? Wow

Thanklessly? She just can't help herself shoving her worldview on the situation. I bet those men are thankful every time.

22
AGiantWasteOfSpaceUSMC•

What does this woman expect? To have an order taken everytime someone gets up to grab coffee? If you're so pissed, say No when they ask. It's that simple.

22
PeytonManThing0USA•

That’s not even what’s happening. The women are getting up and OFFERING to make other people coffee. The “sexism” is in the men not reciprocating. The woman wishes for tyranny.

10
AGiantWasteOfSpaceUSMC•

That's just poor manners, not sexism.

4
PeytonManThing0USA•

Actually, I think it’s just biological gender differences in action.

9
cmchn•

Why should they have to act like adults and take responsibility for themselves?

9
Freddylurkery•

If the men were to offer drinks repeatedly they would be accused of sexual harassment 'overly friendly', ulterior motives and all that good stuff..

You're an adult, Grab your own drink, You do your job and I do mine.

22
mcurr17MA•

First thing I thought of. "He keeps wanting to do things for me. I feel uncomfortable, Mrs H.R rep"

14
Returningtogod1776•

Hostile work environment. Men can't win when the goalposts are always moving.

13
TribeOfNoses•

Guy goes to make coffee so she forcefully hands him her mug and tells him she wants peppermint tea...

So this entitled cunt thinks that men are supposed to take her drink order even if what she wants is a completely different drink than what they're making because she's too busy reading Jezebel articles on how progressive it is to be a vapid soulless slut

20
AgentSmithPS4KEK•

Jezebel spirit from the bible? I assume they chose that name on purpose.

6
[deleted]•

When your idea of sexist oppression is that guys didn’t make you a hot drink, you might not be sexistly oppressed. Try your clueless little study in Pakistan, moron.

13

Wow you made him coffee and he didn't reciprocate. I don't know how society continues to function in the wake of such flagrant injustice.

12
SuperDad_dadadadaaaMAGA•

Everything is sexist, everything is racist. To sexists and racists.

dcmasterandtrainerCAN•

Well technically that's feminism in 2019. :)

9
DeaditewaterDTOM•

forces cup into hands of another human

"do you mind making me some tea?"

FTFY you fucking psycho

9
thelastlastAL•

office workplaces are insane social experiments.

we had women like this, so I stopped lifting things or holding doors. I calmly explained why. They relented, realizing they were being insane.

The fights over the thermostat NEVER stop though.

9
Beer-_-Belly•

So the women are making individual cups of tea and the dudes are making pots of coffee for anyone/everyone. This is typically what I see at the work place. Peppermint tea - fuck off. You want me to dump some coffee from a pot in your mug, I am all in. You want 10 extra steps followed, do it yourself. I would NEVER ask another person to do that for me.

As a dude, here is how I drink coffee. Pour it in the cup, let it cool a little, start drinking. Now I am sexist because I don't take time to become an alchemist at the coffee/tea bar.

9
AgentSmithPS4KEK•

You're alchemiphobic you bigot!

3
Beer-_-Belly•

I think it is pronounced xeno-alchemiphobic.

Just heartbreaking. How do these brave women manage in the face of such blatant, unrepentant sexism? Not my America.
