The early seasons of The Simpsons desperately need an HD 4:3 remaster. Currently all the versions available are all zoomed/stretched. I bought the DVD's of Seasons 4-6, and those don't look so hot, either.

Yeah, I think those early seasons are historically significant enough to warrant going back to the source animation cells and re-scanning them at a higher resolution.
Hopefully those seasons get a proper 4:3 Blu-ray release so I can rip them to my network. The full-quality DVD rips I have of 4-6 indeed don't look great.

Glad you agree, it isn't just me then.
I was pretty disappointed when I bought an episode on Vudu and it was all zoomed in like that. Did some Googling, apparently this is a big issue with every platform Simpsons is shown on.

Yeah I hate it when I notice that a classic episode is on TV and get all excited because I haven't seen it in years and then when I go to watch it they've zoomed it in so you're missing the top and bottom of the image.
