Rotella T6 5w-40

Hey guys, one of the most popular oils for the Super Duty 6.7's is on sale for a couple weeks at Fleet Farm, at least in the twin cities (MN) area. 5 gallon pail for $69.99 = $14/gallon. Stock up now and save about $6/gallon!

Edit: JFC, I dropped in hear trying to save some fellow diesel lovers some cash and all we get is a bunch of trolls. Here's Ford's last word on the topic do whatever the hell you want. https://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubricants.com/main/additionalinfo/dieseloilsWSSM2C171F1.pdf

Oh Rotella T6 the not so synthetic oil that destroys 6.0 injectors. I dropped that stuff it causes super bad stiction. Some Injector Manufacturers won’t even Warranty Injectors when T6 was used

Nice, this guy has a few shill reddit accounts to downvote me.

Not synthetic, Group III conventional. Not good for the 6.7
Its always cheap for a reason.

T6 is a full synthetic.

He's not wrong about it not being a true synthetic. They get to label as a synthetic under a technicality, since t6 is actually Dino oil with multiple refining steps.

That doesn't make it bad oil by any means though either.

False. Group III oils are conventional oils with extra refinement steps.

You are getting downvoted for being right. Rotella T6 is not a true synthetic. This is common knowledge on all the 6.0 FB pages. It causes extreme stiction and causes problems

I see people don’t like the truth😂

Fair enough. I’m not fan of shell oil I just read the bottle. The more you know!

Your right that it's not a full synthetic, but that doesn't mean it's not good for the 6.7. It's a very popular choice, and is in ford's approved oil list of CK-4 oils

but that doesn't mean it's not good for the 6.7

Besides the sludge and leak problems.

It says full synthetic right on the package and literally tons of 6.7 folks run it. Check your facts over on bobistheoilguy. It's even on the Ford approved list.

Group III oil is not synthetic. This has been scientific fact since the 90's when it was developed.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Base_oil#Group_III
"Originating in 1993, the best grade of petroleum base oil, since they are fully produced by Hydrocracking, Hydroisomerization, and Hydrotreating,[5] which make these oils purer.

This group may be described as Synthetic Technology oils or Hydro-Cracked Synthetic oil. However, some oil companies may call their products under this group as synthetic oil."

So, I suggest you check your facts before you further embarrass yourself. :)
