Game Mod

Heyo! So, I'm here to announce a project that's in the works named Vance.

What the hell is it?

Well, it's a Half-Life 2 mod. It is essentially a re-design of the game. Gordon Freeman had never accepted Gman's offer, he was never put in stasis -- instead, died horribly fighting Xenian troops.

You take the role of Alyx Vance, who has to follow through endless trials against Combine troopers and your assortment of aliens along the way in the path to success.

That looks far less protective than Gordon's HEV suit.

Probably due to it being some kind of form fitting cloth rather than military grade armor plating.

Mobility versus protection!

At least in lore, of course. The standard HEV needs to use its power supply for sprints, since it's a straight-up power-armour anyways.

Yeah, and the moment he gives it back in hl2, you can quietly hear him whisper "no Homo" (It's really quiet though). So we know everything is cool between him and Gordon.

The HEV suit wasn't built to be slim-fitting. It has reactive armor, and trauma-relieving medical capabilities. It's cool that you want to redesign it but, it looks like you're trying too hard to accentuate the mid-rift. Functionality > Looks when it comes to the suit. Just my opinion.

Less protective armor on purpose, it serves a different role than the original suit did.

Basically, designed for ergonomics and mobility

Definitely agree. The above suit looks like something that might belong to the Cinematic Mod.

This sounds cool, but considering that Alyx is about to get her very own game, I’d love something that gives some much needed attention to other characters. Blue Shift 2 would be great to see how Barney gets into Civil Protection as a spy and to see what he needs to do to maintain his cover.

The issues with it are being dealed with, it isn't as much of a big deal as we've thought. We didn't get a definitive no.
