WISC after WPPSI
Hi All,
Would it be appropriate to administer the WISC if a child completed a WPPSI in December 2018? Would there be practice effects?
Thanks

Generally 1 year is an acceptable gap. However, if this is for a funding application, you should consult the guidelines of the organization.
Even for giving the exact same test again, one year is considered a decent delay, especially in a kid that young. On top of that, you're looking at 2 different tests, albeit ones with some overlap. So practice effects should be minimal.
Agree; I feel like the WPPSI and WISC are different enough to minimize any effects. Even the subtests that are similar, the administration and content is different enough I feel.
Yeah, I don't think they're going to remember specific items, but think if you gave them one right after the other, there would be some benefits of familiar with the general item format, at least in Block Design, but even that would probably wash out pretty quickly.
Yeah that's a good point.
