Certainly Yacht. Much AM Gold is squarely in the Yachtosphere. This, those awesome Leo Sayer jams, Ian Matthews, even "Burning For You" by Blue Oyster Cult strikes me as, at the very least, Yacht-adjacent.
Many of you have likely heard about this but there is a podcast called "Dogpatch" that has an excellent episode on Yachtosphere music (they don't call it that) which I'd highly recommend. The episode is called "Lizards on Deck"
Happy sailing!!!

I loved the term Yacht Rock because it finally had a name! I love that sound groovy, softish rock love songs from when I first started getting into music in the late 70s. But just hearing of AM Gold that may be more the term that is more all encompassing of what I like. Yacht Rock definitely has the ocean sailing theme which I dig, but there is more like Kool in the Gang - Too Hot or The Who - Tricky Day which I want to stick in there. Maybe it's just an Era of music I like so much.

IMO AM Gold is THE genre that scratches all the right itches and Yacht rick is a sub-genre. Like the way there is PUNK but then there is powerviolence.

I dig this tune. Yachtski score of 52- but I think this should be higher, personally.
They were generous that day. It’s NYACHT.
