Dinner for 9 people Downtown Louisville

Hello - A group of friends and I are spending the weekend in Louisville in mid-April. Looking for a restaurant downtown where we can either have a private room or large round table. Price isn't really an issue. Looking for a local steakhouse or similar dining experience.

Thanks!

I haven’t been yet but everyone says Repeal is fantastic. Jeff Ruby’s is always great food and atmosphere. Those would be your top 2 if you want a fine dining steakhouse experience.

Another cool spot is Mussel and Burger Bar, which is much nicer than the name might suggest. But it’s not really in the category of Ruby’s and Repeal either though.

Jeff Ruby’s for sure. Sit in the bar area. Get reservations now.

So...what day are you in downtown louisville in mid-April? Is it April 18th? If so you are in for a hell of a surprise if you just randomly picked that night to be in Louisville

Insight please?

so, on the 18th you'll be joined by 1 million people descending on downtown for one of the largest fireworks displays in the world and a pretty darn good air show.

If money was no object I'd look into getting a VIP table at a restaurant or a roof top. Should run you about $200 a person and include food and drinks for the entire Saturday so not terrible. Something like this.

FYI: That VIP Rooftop Party is just the roof of a parking garage. Food is likely buffet style under a party tent. A great view for the airshow and fireworks, but definitely not conducive to an intimate dining experience if that's what they're looking for.

oh for sure. per his post history it looks like they are in town for three nights and they said the first night was the nice dinner and the rest of just bachelor party hi-jinx so this was more of a warning about what's happening on Saturday if they weren't prepared

Awesome idea. Thank you.

Thunder Over Louisville is April 18th. It's the kick-off to the Kentucky Derby Festival and the largest fireworks display in North America. Over 600,000 people descend upon downtown for the day.

Doc Crowes. Best experience I have had in a LONG time.

Edit to add Brazerios if you want a Brazilian style steak house.

How is the seating? Looking for a large table for our group to BS and catch-up

Had birthday parties at both. About 10 people. Good time.

I've been to dinners there with 16 or so.

Jack Fry’s or Buck’s

Burger and Mussel Bar if you want somewhere that costs less than $80+ per person.

Can't go wrong with Jeff Ruby's, Repeal, or Doc Crow's. Mussel and Burger Bar is a great local restaurant if you're not 100% looking for a steak.

Brazerios is a great place for a large group.. I've had bachelorette parties and 50th wedding anniversary there. They have both a private room and very large tables. It's argentinean mega meat dinner.

Morton's Steakhouse

I personally recommend The Rivue. It's a steakhouse on the 26th floor of the Galt House Hotel. They has amazing service and can accommodate large parties with ease. Plus the room is constantly rotating (very slowly) so you will have an excellent view of the river. There isn't a better dining experience in the city in my opinion.
