Which team goes from outside contender/non contender to a contender with the addition of Zion

Zion williamson is currently averaging 23.3 points in the National Basektball Association and that's 100 characters. Theoretical question of course

Mavs, so that they become the most circle-jerked team by the media with the addition of Zion

Zion on the Raptors would look nice

Mavs him and KP would be like a perfect backcourt duo. Funny enough it was so close to happening too, Mavs had the same record as Pelicans and Grizzlies who just had a bit better of a lottery luck.

Luka Zion and KP would be an insane big 3 in 1-2 years time

Their first round pick went to the hawks last year

It was top 5 protected to they would've kept it

The nuggets are contenders

Realistically they’re not. Good team but I have a hard time seeing them top either LA team and it’s close with the rockets. They just don’t have that second star rn and it shows. I do think MPJ can get there though, or maybe Murray too.

Or Zion

The only contenders are Lakers clippers and Bucks. Houston, Denver, Boston are that second tier under them.

OKC would look nice

I think we’d still be a year out of real contention but that team would be so nice

CP3 / Shai / Gallo / Zion / Adams with the 6MOTY in Dennis would be tough to beat

I think you could beat us

Zion seems like the most Grizzlies player ever. Plus a big three of Ja/JJJ/Zion probably won’t contend this year, but will be terrifying for a generation.

Theis is nice but imagine a killer small ball unit of Kemba Jaylen Jayson Hayward Zion

The Jazz maybe. A second consistent 20+ppg scorer next to Mitchell would make things a lot easier. Having Gobert and Zion together also pretty much guarantees all rebounds around the rim. I don't think they'd be the favorites to win but they're close enough to being a contender already that Zion could push them over the edge.

Nobody

Correct answer. Everyone’s too blinded by the hype right now - he’s not a non contender to contender immediately player YET.

Nuggets is the only one i really believe become contenders . Jazz, mavs raptors, healthy portland... maybe. Sixers would have terrible spacing, celtics are already stacked but he might get starter minutes if they play small ball but he wouldnt develop well there. Okc would be so fun to watch with him.

Pelicans obviously, but pretty much any team with guards who can play PnR

rockets if you dont consider them a contender already
