I See You
I see you
Staring at me
Looking at you
No one else can see your dark figure
But I do
You follow me
Behind the curtain
A masked evil
As vigilant as ever
An accompaniment neither of us agreed to
Yet you remain
At my darkest moments
Bereft of light
Trapped in my own mind
I swim across an ocean
The depths reach for me
They call to me
And I know you are there
My unseen visitor
Pulling me in every direction
You are my darkness
That I cannot escape
And I give in
For I do not wish to leave
Your cold, comfortable embrace

Hi! I like certain aspects of this. The second and last stanza are my favorite ... the images of an evil vigilante behind a curtain ... finally embracing this cold figure - was the subject embracing all along? ... wonderful. Some lines just feel unimportant/boring like ... You are my darkness//That I cannot escape. You can express this more poignantly. For similar reasons, the third stanza feels lacking. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for reading it! Glad you liked some of it!
