WTW for when you use a better adjective to describe something instead of tacking on a qualifier?

unsolved

For example, when you say 'large' instead of saying 'very big', or instead of saying 'she works hard and studies a lot', you say 'she is dilligent'; any word for this?

I'd say you are making your language more concise and succinct, as well as being economical with your word choice.
