why is cousin marriage still popular? It made sense 200 years ago when we lived in villages and tight knit communities. why are niggaz in cities still marrying their cousins?! Seriously this is too weird the same people you were told to treat like your siblings and call bhai/bhen/baaji etc.. and now you're marrying them, it just feels wrong to me.

It feels ok to me. As for why it is popular, some families like to marry within themselves. It keeps superior genes within the in-group, and recessive genes that result in disability get highlighted; the disabled children are kept from marrying within the in-group.
