What Boveda percentage do you use for your tupperdor?

Question

I currently use a 69%. However my percentage fluctuates from 66% to 65%. I’m just a little worried my cigars will be dry!

65 in a couple. 67 Humicare packs in others. Hydrometers read anywhere between 62 and 68 depending on how full the container is.

I have a 69% in my NC tupperdore and 62% in my CC tupperdore. Both hydrometers read 69 and 62 respectably and +/- 1% at times.

That’s perfect in my opinion. My guess is you live in a cold climate. In winter you almost need a 69 to keep 65. Anywhere from 62-70 will burn just fine. All subject to your own preference. But in cold climates it is what it is.

Just watch it as it warms up. It WILL move up. So if you want 65 you will need to replace the 69 with a 65 for the warmer months. I’m in upstate NY and experience the same thing. I actually prefer 65 as with a little effort I can keep that year round

Ok good. I didn’t know if I should raise my humidity. Because I just recently switched from a acrylic humidor, to a tupperdor.

I see. Its all about preference - I like my smokes a little drier. Don't worry!

I live in a dry, cold climate. I use 65% packs and my tupperdors stay at 67%, very consistently. I’ve also used 69% packs and my tupperdors would stay at 70%. Sticks smoked equally as well, but found with some that were in the 69% I would get wrapper splits, especially when smoking outside in below freezing weather.

For what it’s worth I use sistemas and brilliance containers, and regularly calibrated hygrometers.

I use 65% and with the cedar trays in there it keeps it steady there for weeks without one in there. If I keep it in all the time I’m at 69%.

I live in the mountains of Arizona, and I have found that my cubans have burn issues when kept at higher humidities, so I have a Tupperdor for those with 62% Bovedas (which I guess is the recommended for cubans?) and for the rest I dont have any issues at the usual recommendation of 69%, so I just do that. Nothing crazy.
