So what do I do now?
Found one dead in my bed, I've got a couple of bites.
Is it possible it was just the one and is dead and over? Or do I need to fumigate the hell out of my house?
Also I haven't been feeling the bites but have been waking up with weird nightmares, are the bedbugs causing the nightmares?

never assume just one bedbug. have you inspected for any other bugs or signs of them?
regardless one of the best things you can do for now is to get a mattress encasement thats specifically bed bug proof and put it on your mattress. get another for your box spring if youve got one of those.
Yes, inspected and found nothing. Where can I buy those encasements?
Thanks
depends on where you are in the world but walmart has them as does amazon. just make sure you look for one thats specifically bed bug proof, not just allergen or dust proof. get one sized for your mattress(es), put it on carefully and leave it on for a year - or for eternity, if youre like me. theyre expensive but theyll trap whatever bugs have nested in there until they starve to death. get that done and then vacuum every inch of your home including the baseboards and be thorough! hold the nozzle against nooks and crannies for awhile. immediately take the vacuum outside and empty it into a plastic bag out there once youre done.
again this is dependant on where you are in the world but you might also want to look into cimexa. itll kill any of the little fuckers that walk on it in a matter of 1-2 days, and itll also attach to eggs and kill them once they hatch so long as you get them.
ps i looked at your picture and it looks female - sorry :(
EDIT also throw all of your bedding in garbage bags and take it to the dryer, cook it on high for a few cycles!!! that will kill any remaining bugs clinging to your bedding
Thanks, I will look for them on amazon.
Damn, I was hoping for a male, let's hope she laid no eggs.
this is gonna be tough until you get the encasement but dont leave your bed! they'll follow you if you do and itll spread them out
and yeah, im not one of the pest control pros on here so i could possibly be mistaken but the butt looks pretty round to me and females are a whole other ballgame unfortunately. just be vigilant and keep vacuuming regularly and you'll get through this 👍
I agree-female bed bug.
