Anyone have any info/tips for a someone who played since the D1 beta until last May but is thinking about picking Destiny back up? Thanks Guardians!

It's also free to play the Year 1 content and some of the Year 2 stuff so it's worth trying out
Thanks for the link, I was on Bungie.net looking for info before posting but I didn't find this. Finishing moves are new (to me).
Reinstall, play, and decide if you want to spend some money on either expansion, or the season pass. If you played the game for like 5 years, you already have a good idea of what you're in for. New season starts within a couple of hours, so today is as good a time as any to jump back in.
There is alot of content for u to catch up on but if you hop in today you can power up pretty quick and play the new season that starts today
Thanks for the reply. Would my weapons/armor from last year be obsolete/can they be infused?
Everything is infuseable, yes. This season some weapons will have an infusion cap tho so that’s something to keep in mind. We’ll get more info on the changes coming with the new season today. Dont be overwhelmed by the amount of quests and missions you’ll inevitably get; take it one thing at a time and go for what you want to go for.
Bungie is planning to retire weapons every 9 months so I would keep that in mind should you rejoin. Details are in Bungie Director's Cut Feb-2020 if you're interested
I myself am very against this and may not return until this decision is overturned
Well that's dramatic, they're going to be retiring some weapons for only end game activities and that's it. All weapons will still be viable in 99% of content. Good luck on finding a new game though.
In what way is this dramatic? I as a consumer don't appreciate the change in direction of a product and am discontinuing my use of it.
Is that not what any consumer would do?
As a consumer you certainly have a choice. I wasn't aware that this was happening but after reading your post I watched Datto's video about the Director's Cut. Part of the reason I stopped playing was because at some point every year/season inventory management started taking up too much time. With them maxing out weapon power periodically I'll probably just shard of bunch of stuff right away instead of hanging on to it "just in case".
I'm all for new loot don't get me wrong, but a large issue for me here is one I had in D1 as well. In the Director's cut Luke Smith mentioned he does plan to recycle the old content weapons. Perks, stats, or even outright just pushing the weapon forward to be regrinded out.
D2 in my opinion doesn't need this kind of content. I want new ORIGINAL loot not the same I've been getting to this point over again. They did the same in D1. LDR-5001 Fatebringer, The Comedian. Why and I gonna pay for the same content twice???
if you’re thinking about you probs want it back so go get her

We were really hard core once but I just want to see her casually going forward. I'm afraid she might get her hooks back in.
Just let her. Let her consume you. She does all the work, while you just lie there having a good time.
