When did power scaling problem starts in Naruto?

Question

I've been reading shounen series lately and tried to analyze why a certain problem rises in a ceetain series.

Some people say that Naruto power scaling went out of control later in the series. For example naruto's rasengan grows in size all the time and madara throwing a goddamn meteor.

I would like to suggest that the problem starts when naruto summons gamabunta against gaara in the chunin exam arc. Or the moment kishimoto allows a single ninja to summon/control a beast of that size.

Why is it a problem?

  1. Not many ninja could summon a beast of that size. This means in order to at least restrain them, a technique with the same size of scale is needed. In one on one situation, this forces a ninja to acquire such power in a way that jumps from "human size" to "beast size". Such a feat can only be achieved if you are a kage, naruto, uchiha, or a hashirama.

  2. Point one leads to many ninjas rendered obselete. Ninja like kakashi, specialized in one on one combat, has little to zero chance against gamabunta. Even more so ordinary ninjas.

  3. Now imagine if a ninja can only summon a beast with the size about 7-10 meters tall. You can realistically restrain it with a group of 3 or even a single ninja. Lets say that kurama is in that size. You can still make kurama threatening to the village by many other ways other than size and nuke. Speed, durability, techniques etc, limitless energy. A scenario like minato sealing kurama can still happen honestly if written so.

  4. A beast of such size not only means that smaller feats are needed to restrain it, but also avoids exclusivity. Imagine a world ninja war where 1 in every 100 of ninja could summon 7 m sized beast while of course times weaker than tailed beast. The war would not be nuke centric, but resource centric.

In my opinion, the only reason why kishimoto allows kaiju sized monsters in the story is because it is easier to convey terror and progression. To compare, series like OP, bleach, BC, MHA and KnY, does not rely on size, so they are more unlikely to fell into the power scaling problem to an extreme extent like Naruto.

I'd love to see your opinion on this. I'm sure that I missed something important to add but I can't think of one currently.

Thanks for reading
