A foot note to all new Psychonauts

I meant in this short post to focus the light on something that has effected me and yet effecting other fellow psychonauts.

Luckily in our era we have the internet and reddit to share many things and among of which are trip reports. We have tones of them here, all sort of substances, combinations, dosages, sittings, as if almost every experience supposed to happen been written here, all thanks to veteran psychonauts!! However, this might create some sort of bias, or let me rephrase it better, maybe se sort of limiting the diversity of the experiences and keeping it into some sort of a fixed mold, creating a tendency to new psychonauts to rely on these trip reports to feel that way or in another, leading to create a feed back loop where everyone feels the same.

My advice is not to underestimate the power of suggestion of our brains, it is so easy to go into a spiral of thoughts during a trip because you read it somewhere. So for a new psychonaut just to know general info about the substance you intend to use, familiarize your self with dosages of course, general effects and what to do if things go south. Maybe two or three trip reports won’t do harm but in my opinion scrolling down and reading every trip report is not the best thing to have a genuine experience. In addition, remember our language is so limited to explain our every day emotions, think about explaining something people often describe as beyond comprehension, this would result in having over and over same feelings, or same expectations from the majority of trips.

Keep your mind blank, and enjoy the ride. Stay safe and happy travels everyone!
