[Speculation] The US is Limiting tests because the government doesn’t want to pay for more test kits

These test kits have been available in other countries yet we are having such an issue with ours. My speculative guess is that it’s because US is on the hook for every single test. It’s not been made public but all the hooplah about insurers not charging for coronavirus and that there won’t be surprise billing has to be due to a gov’t agreement that’s been made. Now recognizing the cost of based on the scale they fear more tests could literally bankrupt the government in a matter of months. When you do the math on the test alone ($3000+) in addition to treatment costs along with covering the costs for the uninsured and Medicare/Medicaid population I’m beginning to understand why they’re more worried about payroll taxes than masks and tests....
