Are you changing your investment strategy?

Investing

I know most of us, myself included, don’t plan to withdrawal funds currently in the market because you don’t want to sell low baring necessity.

However, what are your plans for new savings? Do you plan to dump them in the market because it’s on “sale?” Do you plan to hold as cash because you expect the market will get even lower and then you might buy (ie to some extent timing the local min of this downturn)?

In my case, my wife and I are hoping to buy a home soon but I was pretty risky in that I held most of that savings in index funds which are now tanking. I’m happy to leave them alone and start saving up as of now but I’m not sure where is best to put the money. Cash just seems wasteful to me as it is just depreciating. Savings accounts have returns below inflation these days.

Is there a vehicle you consider ideal during a market downturn?
