Sf Bay area, hardware at a software company, married dad, lack time for real life friends

Hi, I only have one real life friend that I see in person. I have lunch with him sometimes because we work near each other. I also have a junior high friend that text often.

I'm extremely awkward, lol. About 4 months ago I accidentally proposed that my boss's boss was a hermaphrodite to his face. Unfortunately, this is my life.

In a meeting, my boss's boss was trying to make a point. He said something like, "I like to consider things from different perspectives, like in my head I'm thinking like a man and a woman, what's that called?"

Unfortunately, I suddenly thought of the word, "Hermaphrodite," then I visibly panicked a little. I started to worry I might say, "hermaphrodite," out loud.

Then my boss's boss said directly to me, "come on, you know."

"Hermaphrodite?", I stuttered slowly.

I have no clue how to make friends. With the kids, I don't have much time to socialize.

I like computer hardware. I like run the jewels.
