Can someone explain socialism and why its good/ bad?

I'm 16 and I can't vote, but my parents are very strictly Republican and no matter what I say they have a reason why Trump is the best possible president. I can't construct my own opinions at all and I don't know what to think. I want to support Bernie but truth is I don't know much about him other than free health care (?). My parents view is that he's just going to tax us more and its evil, and that trump has done the most for the economy, etc. So my questions are: -What exactly is socialism, and what are its pros and cons? -Is trump a good president, and should he be reelected? -For the future, where can I find the most information to educate myself? Thanks!
