Need some advice for gold rank.

I have been hitting high gold for the last 4 seasons and not improving much, this season I really want to hit plat but I just can't seem to improve. I'm working on breaking a few bad habits like reloading without checking if the area is clear but I'm looking for some general advice other than just "get good". Anything helps, if I already know a tip maybe it will still get me to try something new.
