Really strange issue with my HBA card...
I'm building a new storage server with the following components:
- Case: Supermicro SC846 SAS2
- CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
- Motherboard: ASRock X570 Pro4 Motherboard
- LSI-9211-8I (flashed to IT mode)
- OS: Ubuntu Server (Headless) 18.04.04
- OS SDD: Directly to the Motherboard, not through the HBA
Here is my issue:
When my server boots up, I see the normal BIOS, but I never see the LSI splash screen come up with the drive info like I do on my other SC846 build.
I've tried swapping the card to the only other PCIe slot on the MB as well.
When I do go into the ASRock BIOS. I do see the card is there and it is showing the 1 Drive I have connected to it, but that drive is NOT shown in the server when I check for it. So the MB detects the card, and the card is detecting the drive, but for some reason that is not being passed on. I also think it is odd that I don't have an option at any point during the boot to enter the LSI BIOS like in my other server.
Any ideas? I've been searching for hours, but no luck...
EDIT: I've also tried to swap the LSI-9211-8i card from my production machine that is fully operational. I changed out both cards and the production machine still operates normally with the new card in it, so it isn't the card. Also, this picture is the splash screen that does NOT come up on my new Ryzen machine at all. Any help is greatly appreciated.
