Getting back into golf.
I’m just getting back into golf. I played a lot with my dad growing up, but haven’t really played in a decade or so. My set in college had much shorter/smaller drivers.
I’m very solid when it comes to hitting irons. I struggle with distance but can generally keep the ball straight without a hook or slice.
I can’t hit an oversized driver to save my life. The ball goes straight into the ground.
I’ve adjusted me tee height, but really struggle to hit an oversized driver.
Growing up I played with an old school driver, it wasn’t wood. But a traditional head size and club length.
I’m a smaller guy, 5’9”.
Any ideas why I can’t hit a driver?
Should I just go back to an old school club rather than try to reinvent my swing?
Keep in mind, I haven’t played in 15 years or so. But I've really struggled with distance.
I can tee off with a 4 iron and hit the ball solid and straight most of the time but my lack of distance kills my game on any par 4 or 5.
Any ideas why my drives look like a bowling tournament?
