why isnt Bernie Sanders winning any elections/

I'm a college student, not really into Politics but I have seen the proposals of Bernie Sanders and I feel they are really great for the majority of people. The only people who would dislike him are those with 32+million net worth and probably are already using copious amounts of loop holes to dodge taxes anyways. Technically they owe a lot of money to the country because they dodged taxes for so many years. So my questions is why aren't people actually voting for Sanders?, i remember back in 2016 they voted in Hilary for the democrats. How can people vote for her over Sanders? I'm not a rocket scientist but I'm really good at reading people off their vibes and I'm sharp in that aspect. I can tell Sanders is a genuine guy who has unconditional love for the people and will try his best to help us. Hilary on the other hand is two faced and I can tell shes a manipulator. She looks like the kind of person who ask her publicists things like " hey how do i make my self appeal to the minorities and poor people?" she just seems like a total fraud, the kind of person i would not want as a friend or associate. Sanders is the type that will go in the trenches and march with the common people. I feel that's the kind of leader we need. So why aren't people voting for Sanders?
