ShadowInTheStorm

I've adored Sci-Fi / Horror movies nearly my whole life. Today for the first time, I woke up genuinely feeling like I was living in one.

It's a bit too surreal to explain or put into words. I woke up today realizing:

  • The Coronavirus continues going unchecked, with no proper government-enforced restrictions in place for people to follow (just random snippets of advice pertaining to self-quarantine)
  • I'm actually having a discussion with my wife about stockpiling / hoarding food, medicines, water and daily essentials out of fear of prices and demand skyrocketing.
  • Flights are being cancelled between the US and Europe, with several other countries imposing restrictions
  • People still going about their daily lives despite the warnings, signs and writing on the wall.

I literally woke up feeling panicked, uncertain and with a hollow feeling in the pit of my stomach that refuses to vacate, despite me dressing up and coming to work as usual like the countless other co-workers have today (probably not the smartest thing to do even though there are no reported cases in the area).

Anyone else feeling the same?
