Kids under the age of 13 shouldn’t be allowed access to the internet

To be honest with you, the new COPPA regulations have been horribly ineffective at regulating children’s content online. So in order to better police the internet, I believe that the government should ban internet access for those under the age of 13.

My proposal for how it should be enforced is by requiring companies like Google and Microsoft to lock access to the internet unless the user sends the company a photocopy of their passport. This wouldn’t only stop children from accessing the internet, but it would also greatly decrease cyber criminals as well — a win-win in my books.
