Why there isn't a proper Digimon "V-Pet like" smartphone game?
I mean, the V-Pets are the genesis of the franchise.
Why does Bandai continue to force the V-Pets to be a niche product reserved for 8-bit key fobs?
(Don't get me wrong, I don't deny that they're really really cool by themselves).
Why not adapt the mechanics of the V-Pet to a very accessible and practical smartphone game? Adapting the concept to current times with 3D models and the whole thing.
I don't think it would be too difficult to produce and I'm sure that it would have the potential to be a complete success. (Especially in Japan, where smartphones have practically taken over the gaming market).
Bandai could easily offer that classic gameplay, on a device they don't even have to make, without spending too much resources on its production, selling it at a cheap price, with expanded gameplay and online play and just with that they could potentially be sitting on a goldmine.
What do you think?
