Marchus Annus Day 11 “Traveling to the Mangrove”

Each Adult of the Oracles of the Black Pine watches over two kids. Winnifred convinced each of the parents that it was a field trip for Sunday school three weeks out into the woods. They had to take the carriage, and the horses to draw the carriage curtesy of the Grimm family.

Winnifred was taking care of Edgar’s children Samantha, and Willow. Wilfred watching Howard’s children Bella, and Wirt. Vincent was watching over Stephen’s sons Bram, and Joseph. Veruca took care of the Challender kids Amelia, and William. Derek watched over all of the kids when their primary caretaker needed rest for he was still considered an outsider to most of Withermoor.

The woods were old, and tasted of stale air. The smell of still water, and moss filled every breath. In the shadows you could see shapes, and shadows of lost people, and Derek kept seeing the pale man in a top hat. The wolves howled even during the hours of day, and the travelers told tales of creatures.

Lycanthropes, ravens, crows, and wolves that could take human form at will. Some said to be old bloodlines of Withermoor cursed to never age as they watch the land progress ahead them.

They made camp, and took watch each night. Five days of storytelling passed until they reached it the Bogbeast Lagoon.

“Class, for the next few days we will be studying the Lagoon, and possibly even find the Bogbeast itself” Winnifred announced.
