Issues with cleaning up supports, brittle resin?
Hi Everyone,
I am having an issue with supports leaving marks when I try to snip them off and chunks of the prints chipping off when I go to cut the support structure. I am using a photon and the anycubic grey resin, CHITUBOX slicer and support settings can be seen in the imgur link. There are also pictures of the chipping and support marks in the album as well. The models are DnD minis about 1.5 inches tall.
It looks like the prints are super brittle and the shock from the supports being snipped is causing the material to fracture and come off.
My current post process is as soon as the print finishes I splash the parts around in a jar about half full of 91% isopropyl for a few minutes then snip off supports before curing under a UV light. The issues shown in the pictures happen when I snip the supports off.
Has anyone had this problem before? Do you have any recommendations for getting smoother prints? I am looking for recommended support settings or process for cleaning prints up.
Thanks!
