1968 Honda CB350 - FIRST BIKE ?

Hi r/motorcycles ! New member here as Ive recently been becoming more and more serious about getting a motorcycle. I have no experience but am generally handy, coordinated and confident. Came across this guy in my neighborhood on craigslist - 1968 Honda Cb350. Looks super sweet and in good condition. Done some research and seems easy to handle and sort of a beat around fun option- for me looks like a good first timer! It's less than $2K with these stipulations:

- "Last fall I started some minor cosmetic projects to swap some parts I had powder coated (front fender, headlight bucket and fork ears, chain guard, exhaust collars) and bought new set of mufflers, chain, spoke set. Wouldn’t take to much time to put back together and get going.

Bike is bill of sale only"

I live in California .

Does this sound insane to anyone or makes sense. If so - what would be the next steps for me? Purchase then, classes?
