GPU dying of just Steam having problems?

Not entirely sure this is the right place to post this.

If I leave Steam up behind a browser window too long then go back to it, I get this. Black boxes and weird artifacts in random places. Everything else, including games seems to be fine. Haven't noticed anything weird inside games (artifacting, glitches, etc) or other applications. I was just wondering if anyone else has similar issues.

I'm using a GTX 1070 with the Nvidia 440.59 driver and kernel 5.5.7-1 on Manjaro. I've noticed it before on earlier kernels and Nvidia driver versions though.
