Let's talk students in engineering + covid19
I want to create a dialogue for students who are concerned about how higher education (and for us in particular, as engineering students) is handling the unknown impact that this virus will have. My University will be moving to only online instruction for 2 weeks after Spring Break. While I doubt it will be only 2 weeks, other universities across the country are either shutting down completely or everything but. So, I'm not only curious, but it's also important because pretty much all the faculty at my college admit that they don't know what the best way to proceed is - there might be value in brainstorming this one together? So let's start here:
How is your University handling this, specifically? (Online, changing to Pass/Fail final grading criteria, 1-on-1 testing, etc.)
What are you looking forward to in regards to these changes?
What are you not looking forward to in regards to these changes?
