Hiring freeze in SG?

Hello! I'm looking to know from people working in/ with HRs if there's a slowing down or freeze in hiring? I've applied to a lot of places where I fit pretty much all their criterias and have the required degree/ professional certifications, but I'm getting zero call backs. I'm here on a dependent pass so I just need a letter of consent to work.. my certification is super specialised and while I understand that it may not get me a job, but it is good enough to get me at least an initial screening call, but even that doesn't seem like it's happening... Kinda disheartened, but looking to see if there's something more I need to do on my end or it's a Covid effect? Thanks!
