Hitting your kids is wrong
This may seem popular but I see people bring it up a lot on this thread. "Spanking is bad" "kids who were hit are more respectful" "physically disciplining your kids isn't wrong" These are such unhealthy ways of thinking. Hitting a child is not discipline its abuse. A child doesnt associate violence and punishment they associate fear with an action and there have been studies confirming this. You're not teaching good behavior you're teaching them to act a certain way around you.
But that's not the main problem. Its morally wrong to hit your child. Violence for an adult is wildly different than it is for children. Children who experience violence at a young age internalize it and don't have the same emotional response to it that adults do, their brains and bodies are not fully developed. There is also the instance of power involved. As a parent and as an adult you are immeasurably more powerful than your child, physically, mentally, legally. You can do most anything to a child and it is up to other adults to step in, the child has no power. This is psychology damaging to children. It doesn't discipline them. Its gross and immoral. Teach your kids, actually parent. Hitting makes worse behaved kids. And listen its one thing to disagree with me, some faceless nobody onlime, but read the articles below, listen to professionals and science.
