ships don't really sink in this game do they?
So like I'm having some mock battles against the campaign craft, and a re-occuring theme is just how ridiculously stubborn ships seem to be when it comes to sinking. the tyr and the bulwark come to mind as a good example... I had a couple of ram ships nearly saw the tyr in half before getting jammed inside with all that exposed the tyr only dipped below the sinking threshold when one of my ram ships litteraly climbed up ontop of it to wheigh it down for a bit before falling off again. I know it's not very fun to get one breach and your battleship gets to be a submarine, but I feel like this is the other extreme lol. I know PID systems are definetly why its happening. they just make ships so durable, It's less like a ship and more like i'm fighting a shaped glacier with guns attached. I don't know if changing the mechanics around PID's or sinking too much is a good idea though... it could potentially render tons of designs completely useless. it just seems a bit absurd at the moment that 20+ ton battleships kinda just float like ice cubes.
