Discord hates slow internet, workaround?

So basically, I have noticed that when my data is throttled to 2G speeds (or when I am on slow af internet), the app tends to have a LOT of trouble reconnecting unless I do a quick swap between faster internet and then go back to the slow internet, as otherwise it keeps timing out on both Desktop and Mobile...

But yeah, uh... is it remotely possible to just... have it work at all without waiting for a million years just to get lucky and have it connect quick enough or swap the connections? I mean, Discord is where my only friends are, anyway.
