My cat has ticks and I can't get them out
Last night, I had discovered that my cat whom I let outside had at least two ticks around his neck. I tried several times to remove them with tweezers and gloves and my dad held him down but to no avail. The vet opens in about 10 hours from now, meaning he'll have had the tick for nearly a full day by the time he gets treatment. Is there something I can do until then? Or is the wait a feasible option?
And side note, after this experience, my dad doesn't want to let my cats out anymore. At all. He's very against the idea because of ticks, and anything I say immediately gets shut down by him, meaning I can't let them outside anymore. We've been letting them outside most of their lives, and when we didn't let them outside for several months they became incredibly depressed and apathetic. Needless to say, I think they might need to stay indoors as it is overall just safer. Are there some things I can do to make sure they remain happy and not upset because they can't go outside?
