LJ & the Private Matter question

Sorry - I’m new to Reddit and not sure about flairs/spoiler etiquette... That said, I suppose my question is for anyone who's read the complete book/short story/novella collection.

I read halfway through Drums of Autumn and decided to catch up on all the short stories and novellas to get the full story, chronologically. I’m at the part in Lord John and the Private Matter where Syphilis is being treated with Malaria. Historically, this didn’t happen until the early 1900s, but this apothecary in 18th century England learned the technique from an army surgeon. Is the time traveler who taught him the technique revealed in later Outlander or John Grey books?
