Car Repo advice needed
I have a similar problem to a post I read regarding having possession of somebody else’s vehicle and it being repossessed here’s my situation. A friend of mine is in jail and I do have power of attorney over his Land and properties. He is in the middle of a bankruptcy and the company he’s working with has arranged for him to have one payment which includes his mortgage payment and his auto payment Combined together and paid to the bankruptcy company helping him. Then that company will make the payments for the house mortgage payment and to the finance company for his car . For reasons that are too complicated to explain to all of you reading this my problem is originally I was going to stay in his home and make the payment to the bankruptcy company he’s been working with however that is not possible due to the fact that there was also someone else living in his home that I could not cohabitate with so I have removed my property from the home but I would like to try to make his car payment for him . Does anybody know how I would go about doing that ? Do I have to talk to the bankruptcy company or the original finance company for the vehicle and if the vehicle is behind a payment or two would they work with me if have the power of attorney and allow me to make the payment for the vehicle?. I’m concerned if I Ask either one they may just repossess the car because they don’t know he’s in jail. I was thinking if the bankruptcy company was not involved I could just send the payment to The finance company and they would never know the difference as long as they received the payment but since the bankruptcy company is involved they would have to figure out what portion of that payment that would cover just the car payment . How would you handle this I’m stressing out over this .So I welcome any advice from anybody reading this and really need it thanks
