Hey y’all question about something odd happening with Wolf

So i’ve been playing Wolf more and more and today the same thing happened twice that I’d never seen before.

When I used the blaster while falling to stage Wolf shifted/got pushed backwards mid-air almost like the blaster shot had a recoil.

Anyone know what’s going on there? I’m guessing it’s standard I’m just not entirely sure why it happens sometimes and not all the time or why it happens at all.
