U1 query for the Bachelor of CS program

Hey guys, so I got an offer for the U1 program but I wanted to go for a direct entry to the Bachelors of CS program and when I checked the decision letter it said internship not applicable. Is it not applicable because I am technically not in the Bachelor of CS program and it only applies after I make it in year 2 ?
