DAE "know" how they are going to die?

Ever since I was 15, I've just had a feeling that when I die, it would be caused by a car accident. (I also believe that it'll happen in my late 20s or early 30s.)

This feeling is so strong, that it causes no doubt in my mind that it will happen. I cannot see myself dying from homicide, or some sort of sickness, but a car accident instead.

I don't know if I'll be a pedestrian hit by a car, if I'll get hit by a car in a car, or if I'll spin out and wreck, I just "know" it'll involve some sort of car accident.

I was scared when I first realized that fact too. Somehow, I've found peace in death and am a lot less affected about it.

Even if I hadn't, I don't think I'd be that affected now, since I see how the world is declining and would rather not watch it end.

that’s true, the world is becoming a scary place and even tho i really want kids sometimes i think about if i would even want to raise a child in a world like this

Same here, I feel guilty just thinking about a family in this type of economy. I just hope my generation will be able to make a change before it's too late for anything.

Somebody once told me that we all die alone.

Maybe, maybe not. I believe that when I die, I will have people near me but be the only one actually dying.

Which I'd prefer, better to mourn one death than multiple at once.

That's not quite what it means.

When you die, nothing and no one can come with you. Even if you die alongside someone else, you're not dying "with" them. You are alone on the journey to whatever comes after.

Never though of that before...

But how would we know that we will be alone? After death, can be like a tour to ??? with everyone else who died at the same time as you, or maybe our conscious will make it seem like we aren't alone?

Maybe there isn't even a journey at all, when we die, everything with our current body, dies too.

And that is why death is called the great unknown.

I used to have this and periodically I would get a strong feeling that I would die soon. But I want you to know that so far none of this has come true. Do you have an anxiety disorder by any chance?

I mean, I'm not worried about dying then, it's actually a bit peaceful because I "know" I won't die tomorrow.

And, I haven't been diagnosed for anxiety, but I've had a couple of panic attacks before.

It's good these feelings aren't distressing to you then! When I had these feelings, they would cause me immense dread.

They used to, and whenever I thought about what happens after death, that feeling would be even worse and of course that's pretty much all I would think about.

It wasn't until I spent around 2 weeks just researching what people think happen after death, or what people have seen when they died and came back, until I came up a theory of my own. It's helped calm my mind and stop me from thinking about it.

Does it still cause you those feelings?

I'd be interested in hearing what your thoughts were if you wanted to share! It does...unfortunately I haven't really made my peace with death. It's something I see a therapist for.
