Frequently Asked Questions - Updated
Updating this post as of 3/15/20 to include Season 2 Updates & roadmap. If there is anything else that should be added, post below and I will update as necessary.
- Q: Where is the Season 2 Roadmap?
- Q: How can I report toxic players or cheaters online?
- A: Currently the only way to do so is by obtaining the player's username and submitting a report to the Focus Forums here. The devs have acknowledged a need for a reporting system and it is likely in the works.
- Q: I lost all my progress. What can I do?
- A: You can write to the dev team at help@saber3d.com, and mention your platform, storage folder attached (archive it with any archiver), and info about about your previous progress. In addition - on PC, it is recommended to make a backup of your local saves, which are located here: \AppData\Local\Saber\WWZ\client\storage
- Q: Are there private lobbies?
- A: Yes! Private lobbies were added in the June 3 'Undead Sea' update. You can also locally host a game for console - PC support for that will be coming soon.
- Q: Is this game worth it for me?
- A: That depends! The answer will be different for everyone. Research the game. Watch gameplay videos. Read these FAQs! Hopefully you can then make an educated decision.
- Q: What game modes are there?
- A: There is PvE co-op campaign mode with matchmaking; offline solo campaign with bots; Horde Mode; weekly challenge mode; and PvPvZombies that includes game modes such as swarm deathmatch, swarm domination (control/conquest), king of the hill, vaccine hunt (capture the flag hybrid), and scavenge raid (fight for resources).
- Q: Does this game support cross-platform play?
- A: Cross-platform support will be live on Monday, March 23rd!
- Q: What locations are in the game?
- A: Current locations are New York, Jerusalem, Moscow, and Tokyo.
- Q: How many levels are in the game?
- A: There are 4 campaigns/locations in the game with a total of 14 levels.
- Q: My weapons stopped earning XP. What gives?
- A: As of a previous update in May 2019, you now need to unlock the next weapon tier in order to continue earning XP for that weapon.
- Q: I bought a perk and now I can't change it back to what I had before. Am I stuck?
- A: Every class has 1 selectable perk in each column, not including the always-active red perks once bought. You simply need to select another perk in the column to remove the one you do not want.
- Q: Will there ever be local co-op or splitscreen?
- There are no plans to implement either of these.
- Q: How does progression work? Is there a lot of grinding?
- A: It depends how much time you want to dedicate to the game. There is class and weapon progression. Each time you use a class, you'll gain XP for it, which unlocks perks that you use in-game credits to buy/use. Weapons start at level 1. Each time you use one, you'll gain XP for it which will unlock attachments. Each weapon has 5 tiers to unlock. You use points you earn while playing to buy and unlock those attachments/tiers.
- Q: Does this game have loot?
- A: WWZ is not a looter shooter. Think Left 4 Dead. You'll find resources, but there isn't any randomly generated loot like you'd find in Borderlands/Division/etc.
- Q: Are there dedicated servers, or is it Peer-to-Peer?
- A: Both! If the dedicated servers are down, you can keep playing with P2P just fine. The current dedicated servers are located in North America, Europe, and South Korea.
- Q: Will the game ever release on Steam?
- A: The game is currently only available on the Epic Games store.
- Q: What are the system requirements on PC?
