Will always love Herrera just for this.
Herrera had a fantastic assist on the Mata's first goal that day as well. It ended up being overshadowed by Mata's second incredible goal, but no need to forget about Herrera's contributions!
edit: Here's the assist. Thanks goalbot! Worth checking out the other two as well.

lmao I've never noticed that one United fan in the grey jumper celebrating in front of all the pool fans
Mata and Herrera were incredible to watch together that season. Might be an unpopular opinion, but the football we played during that run is the best I've seen us play post Fergie. Funny enough, some of the worst football I've seen is play was under van Gaal too.
Fucking hell that spell in december and over new years was the worst in all these years post Fergie
Yeah, for a month and a half we were so good. Beat spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea in one monyh
Not Chelsea, city though, and that Chelsea game away was pretty close
We played some excellent football on that day, I remember Gary Neville on commentary saying its on the best starts by a United team at Anfield he's seen in the last 10 years.
Liquid football

Herrera getting a yellow for daring to be stamped on...
I know right? He was just there to provide greater traction so he didn't slip.
The prem has such a weird habit of carding the victim as well as the fouler
#44 Seconds
Someone should put that on a banner and hang it in the Stretty lol
One day I was talking about this incident with a Liverpool fan, and I said that Gerrard only lasted about 40 seconds on the pitch. She replied "38 seconds!" like it was something to be proud of.
It's a long time for a scouser
30 years must feel like an eternity then 😂
Apart from the card he had a really good game
Hardly put a foot wrong
I was watching this at my mums house and my cousin came round before kick off with her scouser boyfriend I hated, I remember I was laughing when this happened and he got so mad he stormed out and made a tit of himself, great day.
Damn I miss Herrera sometimes
This was obviously retaliation for something that hadn’t happened yet.
Absolutely love the shithousery by Herrera. Look at how innocently he acts to the ref when he gets booked
Kisses camera
Some football arrogance.. lol
Jesus, United vs Liverpool..Real Madrid vs. Barcelona..Federer vs Djokivic..all in the same day..

That First half was probably some of the greatest football I have ever seen a United team play, passing was just mind blowing, tactical genius that one from LVG.
Juanfield 😌
I remember watching this game on my laptop in the browser and I just switched to a different tab to google something...and poof when I came back to the game, he was gone....
Wtf is the North West derby

I remember the hype and build-up to Gerrard's last Liverpool-United game and how it was all about him when they brought him on and then...he's just gone. Priceless :)
A lot of memes get overposted, but I'll never not laugh at the heat map posted on Twitter right seconds afterwards.
It's just because you know that in his head it was "I'm Steven Gerrard and I'm gonna come on and win the game for us because I'm Steven Gerrard and Steven Gerrard can do anything". And then he got sent off.
I love how I read this in Gerrard’s voice.
"Yeeaah course"
-Gerrard
I definitely shared that heat map far and wide. Great banter!
Happy cake day!
