How soon after starting elimination diet should I expect results?
I haven't been diagnosed with EoE and I've pushed back the endoscopy that could diagnose it because of COVID-19 concerns. I do, however, have elevated blood eosinophils despite taking fexofenadine and fluticasone propionate daily.
I did 9 days of the 6-food elimination diet with no improvement, and I've now parlayed that into a diet consisting solely of Neocate Junior (a nutritionally complete, elemental, hypoallergenic amino-acid formula). 2 days into that diet, marking 11 total days since I began these elimination diets, I haven't improved at all. I know most sources suggest trying diets for at least 2 weeks but I wanted to know how long it has taken everyone here to see results.
Lastly, I have no idea if I have EoE, and I have symptoms that don't usually go along with the disease. I've never gotten anything stuck in my throat, though it does feel as though liquids will remain in my esophagus after I've finished drinking (cold feeling). The only abnormal tests I've had were the blood test for eosinophils and an esophageal manometry that showed impaired contractions. Is the latter generally associated with EoE? I had the test done because swallowing feels grossly unusual and typically consists of a mildly painful click/thud/snap in my neck.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I asked the same question on here a while back. One person responded and said 4-6 weeks.
For me personally I felt some improvement in swallowing (which was my main symptom) around the 5-6 week mark. I’m on week 8 and while it has definitely gotten better, I still have trouble swallowing sometimes. Hoping the upcoming endoscopy helps provide more conclusive information on if it’s been working or not.
Thanks, it's good to know I might get some relief in the future.
