Hello. I just downloaded REmake 3 demo and every time I launche the game I get past adjusting brightness my pc crashes. My screen goes black. Anyone else experiencing this?
PC specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600x GPU: Radeon RX480
My graphic card drivers are up to date.

I'm in the same boat! Did the brightness settings and then it tells me the symbol means save, etc. Then it suddenly just crashes. I've been trying to solve every small error in event viewer and it still just keeps crashing. Tried moving it to a different drive, playing offline (which instead additionally tells me it can't connect to the network and I need to in order to play, before crashing), updated Windows, and none of it helped. Checked the temps and GPU/CPU usage with an overlay and with Hwinfo logs to see if there was anything happening right before it crashs and I couldn't see anything out of the ordinary. I'm basically taking a break now and getting some fresh air (at a social distance). Did you happen to solve the issue on your end?

USA over here and now it's far past my turn to go to bed. I couldn't find a fix unfortunately. Tried underclocking, tried playing a bunch of other games to see if anything else crashed. Booted up RE2 and that still worked fine. I even alt tabbed out in hopes that if I didn't see the screen, nothing bad would happen (spoiler: it still did).
I got nothing. Might try again in a couple days, not sure I want to keep running tests that involve my computer restarting lol. If you can figure it out, please fill me in. Otherwise I think I'll wait to see if they update it or someone else out there has this problem. So far it seems like it's just us though :/
Hey. I fixed my game. I went to Steam and opened up Demos local files. There's re3_config. I don't know which command worked but I changed these:
Capability=DirectX12
TargetPlatform=DirectX12 (both DirectX12)
UseOptimizeShader=Disable
PCWindowMode=0 (but it still opened in windowed)
I opened game and it opened it in a weird state like it was windowed but the game was small quarter of the screen on top left. I quickly went to setting and the graphis on default were set to 4k resolution. I adjusted resolution went to full screen and it worked.
But the demo is bugged I already got stuck in one area where zomby just blocked my doors and I couldn't get back lol. Make sure to tell me if It worked for you.
Happy to hear it worked for you! Unfortunately, I'm still at a loss on my end. When I opened up my RE3_config it was entirely blank so I just added in:
Capability=DirectX12
TargetPlatform=DirectX12
UseOptimizeShader=Disable
PCWindowMode=0
I tried the game again and nothing seemed to change and it crashed. Restarted PC and checked the ini file again and saw it had a few more lines to it underneath what I'd added, now looking like this:
Capability=DirectX12
TargetPlatform=DirectX12
UseOptimizeShader=Disable
PCWindowMode=0
[Render]
PCTargetAPIFallback=Enable
Capability=DirectX12
TargetPlatform=DirectX12

So I took out the top three lines and put PCWindowMode=0 near the bottom. But the outcome was still the exact same and it continues to crash :(
Gonna try reinstalling and see if that changes the ini file at all. If it's alright with you, would you mind writing or sending a screenshot of how your re3_config looks?
Hi! I experienced this too, I fixed it by uninstalling the display driver using DDU,
After reinstalling the driver, the game runs smoothly without problems.

Is your GPU overclocked by any chance?
No. Neither GPU nor CPU.
When the demo opens at the beginning it's windowed, then goes full screen and crashes...
Is your gamefile 6GB? I thought it was supposed to be 8GB.
6.2 GB was the dowload size. Mine started windowed too then swapped to Full screen. Does it give you any error after the crash?
Not that I can see one. My monitor goes black saying no signal. There's sound for few secs and then i just need to reboot pc.
Anything in Windows event viewer that might tell you whats causing the crash?
