Is it possible to have overlay appear on the output HDMI?

Questions

So my setup is Xbox -> HD 60S connected to computer -> TV (which I play on) and was wondering if it's possible to get an overlay for chat to play on my TV?

Sorry if it's an obvious "No, the output is just the raw feed being passed through", just wanted to check so I can see chat while playing vs having to look at my monitor

Last resort is playing in the instant gameview but would prefer to avoid that if possible

I mean maybe? Surely there is some device which can overlay the chat on screen, problem with that is the insane response time usually making the game unplayable. Not worth it imo, seems better to have a second monitor to read chat and monitor the stream.
