Few questions for minoxidil users?

So I'm about to start using and had a few questions. I'm 20M and have some but not a lot of facial hair. In the mustache and goatee area I can grow enough to be noticeable but that's it, and the sides I can barely grow anything. So a few questions:

  1. I have the foam ones (from a friend) and I realized that that I find it hard to apply the cap full over my whole face (or it melts/dissapears after a like 10 seconds)

  2. Do I have to apply everywhere including neck area (I don't want a neckbeard but idk if I should apply here)

  3. Can I apply over growing facial hair?

  4. Do I continue my normal shaving routine after I start minoxidil? Should i stop shaving, or should i shave at the beginning and then let it grow?

  5. What happens if you grow a good beard after 5-6 months and then you stop using?

Sorry for the questions guys, appreciate the answers.

Read the FAQ. But I'll answer some questions.

  1. I don't use foam so I don't know.
  2. No, but if you want a beard thats natural looking, you might want to, well I'm referring to under your chin. But your actual neck you don't have to lol. But don't just apply it to your face, apply it under your jaw too.
  3. Yes you can, once it reaches your skin though.
  4. You can continue normal shaving. Minox works best under clean shaven condition anyways.
  5. Depends on the person. If the hairs are terminal, it'll stay. If they aren't terminal, they'll fall out and you'll return to pre minox stages. But I say go for atleast a year. Why go on for 6 months and stop then you'll have to start all over again. Sure you might get lucky but, if you want that beard, put some dedication into it! I was on minox for 4 months and already I can grow a full beard. They are some patches and spots I want filled in, but I would want to hit 1 year of usage.

Anyways please read the FAQ. It is the best thing to do. And also, best of luck to your minox journey, brother.

thanks for the answers, but also at 20, despite reaching ends of puberty, I could still be growing, as some people don't grow beards until 22-23. but yeah, it makes sense to continue for a year at least
