Had you seen who would've been Detective Douche if they hadn't recast him? Alternative Pilot Scene.

Strangely he doesn’t look as douchey as the current Detective Douche

Yah that's weird. This guy seems serious and responsible. Not as douchey as our detective. Little nuances do make a difference right?

This casting of douche explains the casting of Trixie. I absolutely adore her but sometimes I think she looks nothing like a daughter of Dan and Chloe. But with this Dan I can see it.

I am glad they recast. I like the take on Dan of the current actor much more than this guy's.

they look too much alike Luci and this Dan 😂. I was also wondering why the casting choice for Trixie but I thought maybe she just won out over the other kids on pure talent and screen presence. didn't know about the recast until this thread. Did they really shoot the entire alternative pilot with a slightly different cast?

I have no idea if they did the whole episode with him. I suppose they did and showed it to a preliminary audience at some point, maybe. But someone mentioned in another thread ages ago there was a recast and I kept wondering who that was and yesterday I stumbled upon this gem in YouTube completely by accident so I shared it here cause my people would appreciate it.

KA's Dan I can believe was married to Chloe, this guy? Can't see it. (And I'm now going to go back and watch this episode as felt as if TE was playing Lucifer very slightly differently to how he does in the aired scene.)

Agreed, in the aired pilot Lucifer was more sarcastic when saying "surprise me" and the vibe from Kevin Alejandro felt more authenticly hateful than in this scene with this other guy. I say we got the best Detective douche at the end. Love it.
