My birthday ended 20 minutes ago. Quarantined birthday was still not my worst birthday. I organized the bedroom closet. Happy 34, I guess.

Things are really wonky with the corona virus quarantine everywhere... The days feel boxed in and I can't be sure what is going to happen.
But today you had a day and you were born. That's pretty cool:) I hope it was peaceful.

I try not to put too much stock in birthdays because it always feels like as you get older, it just kind of stops being important. But that makes me sad!
My SO's family does a really good job of doing things for birthdays every year. At first, I was like "no, not for me please," but now I'm reconsidering.

Re-claiming birthdays as celebrations! Do it! I did it last year with a cake and it was so uncomfortable but also good. This year is my 30th and I was going to really step out of my comfort zone and have a party. Obviously that’s off the table now. But next year! Next year will be my year to really celebrate myself

Birthdays are as important as you make them, and since they're still important to you, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. You can put all the stock in them you want because they're your birthdays. You organized your closet, so that's an accomplishment, and one you made on your birthday, so it's significant.

Agreed. Of course, I wish we didn't have to go through this... But it's happening, and I hope we learn some things from it. I'm super sad thinking about those of us who will end up dying and truly didn't do anything to warrant getting it to begin with. There are just SO many things this is putting into perspective right now regarding current "issues" and leadership and what we value as a localized society and a world society.
We will get through it, and if it's my time, I'm ok with that. Shit just can't keep going the way it's going.

I do love that there were no expectations and I could just do me. But I'm realizing that working through my trauma means I actually want to spend time with the people I've learned to care about, and not even having that option makes it kind of suck. I just feel like my birthday got lost in Coronavirus, and then I feel guilty for even thinking my birthday should matter right now. It's a really ugly sort of catch 22 and a reminder of past birthdays too. Ugh.

Ugh. Right in the feels. I had plans with friends who I really want to see that have just evaporated. But now it’s like people are dying and I’m worried about going out for a drink?? So much guilt and confusion.

My birthday's in 3 weeks. I really didn't want to be home for it becaue I don't wat to be confronted with how alone I am at this point in my life. Then came COVID-19. I saw you posting that you're trying not to feel down about it, but I completely understand your reaction. This whole sitation stinks. I hope we kind of made up for it.

I'll be 33 on April 7. The city I'm in is still scheduled to be on lockdown at that time. I am trying to be optimistic - stocked up on some nice wine and a cake/frosting mix so I can at least make my own birthday cake. I'll be able to celebrate with my boyfriend at least.
But hey, I just organized our closet a few days ago, and that stuff makes me happy whether it's my birthday or not, so I totally get it!!

I was 33 on the 23rd and had vertigo. But at least I got a nap! I was reflecting on quarantine birthday too. It wasn’t worse than turning 10, the only year my mom agreed to a party, then the four friends I invited (two sets of twins) all got the puking flu the day of, or “got the puking flu the day of.” It’s been 23 years and I’m still not sure.
